Saw the show today, almost had the gallery to my self. I will say the work all looks cool and is well executed/put together, but it all just leaves me so cold and bored. I thought to myself, what’s the point? The whole Obey concept at the start of the project was very intellectual and interesting. At this point though, it seems so watered down and bland. Where is the artistic input? The flag pieces aside, where is there any room for viewer interpretation? and reinterpretation as years pass? Maybe my definition of art is different than the folks who love this work. What I have found for myself is that I look for work that emotes, and is almost like visual poetry with layers of interpretation. I have always stayed away from the artist vs graphic designer debate simply because it seemed like such a hard thing to define. After seeing this show, I think I have a better grasp on that. Shepard is very good at graphic design and selling an image/brand, nothing more, nothing less. Thoughts?

We thought this great quote summed up the times quite well and would make a great first post. It seems most art these days has been made to appease the lowest common denominator. At Most Art Sucks, it is our mission to call these people out for what they are doing, as well as, promoting the people making great art out of passion and necessity with a slant towards the long term investment side of things.
